extended warrenty insurance for Porsche

Hi. Can anyone give me the contact details of a company in the UK who would sell an extended warrenty for a use Porsche 997 C4S 2007 model? the car has gone 38000miles.

The best choice, but most expensive, is Porsche themselves. Contact your local dealer.

I don't think the Porsche policy is that expensive (circa £900 without the breakdown cover option?) compared to other offerings once you've ticked the boxes for main dealer labour rates and wear & tear etc, besides the fact they're notoriously difficult to successfully claim on. The Porsche cover is Europe-wide (or worldwide?) too.

The other worthwhile option is Hartech's scheme, which costs about the same (or a bit less) and includes an annual service & MOT.

thanks for the suggestions. however porsche require the 111 point inspection to be carried out first and i won't have time to take that until a couple of weeks after i have bought the car. but i imagine i won't have a breakdown in the meantime..

Any warranty company that [i]doesn't[/] inspect the car first are basically selling a product that's open to abuse and are hence more likely to deny a legitimate claim.

The porsche warranty requires you to have owned the car for 90 days beforehand but it can transfer to a new owner at any time. So a private owner can have the car inspected, buy the warranty and transfer it the next day when they sell the car to a new owner.

Firstly as said above, after you have bought the car privately, you need to own the car for 90 days before you can do the 111 and pay for the extended warranty.

What I did was use the 111 as a pre-purchase inspection, get the previous owner to pay for the warranty and transfer to me immediately. Then I pay the cost back to the seller.

Secondly a few OPCs can waive the 111 cost particularly if you have a relationship with them.
