Told you all youd be bombarded
Right, just been up the road to the japanese resteraunt and taken this:
www.pbase.com/bilko1971/image/37253466
I achieved what i set out to do in so far as i wanted the end lantern in focus with shallow DOF and the other lanterns blurred.
Lessons learned: Remember to set ISO
. In my paniked state of thinking i might be mugged of my preciouse i totally forgot and left it on 1600 from last night.
More light needed on background wall, Only slightly though.
Picture is skewif in so far as i wanted leading lantern at the bottomish left going up to topish right.
remember rule of thirds.
I bracketed exposure and WB as i wanted to get things nearly right at least and as a result took 83 pics of this subject
So scared of not taking a decent picture lately that i almost didn't go out!! stupid really, anyone get that?
Anyway, i did and even though it's not great i am happy that i achieved (sort of) what i wanted to do.
As usual, critique is welcome.

Just had a thought!
Maybe i could fix the composition in PS with one of those skewif crops?. Anyone who fancies a play is welcome......erm

Very different to what I expected when I clicked on the photo, and very good too. I would say it is only a couple of degrees of what I would consider the optimum angle, really not a lot to worry about. Also, I think the high ISO adds rather than detracts. All in all a very good photo, I'm impressed
