M4 on the M4 in Austin Yellow
Discussion
Not a big fan of Austin Yellow. It looks like one of those odd colours that's on show cars when they're newly launched but no one wants after a few years because it's become deeply unfashionable. The whole range of colours for the M3/4 is a bit disappointing really. I'd pay some extra to have my M4 in Atlantis Blue ... if I could afford one.
I think the Aurum Dust concept was nicer than the Austin Yellow. It got a lot of slack at the time due to looking like the colour of piss though. http://www.rushlane.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08...
Need to see one in real life really before making a decision, have you considered the Individual colours? I don't have a clue how that works or even if they are available on the M3/M4 but paying 2 grand for a colour seems quite hefty!

There's a few on autotrader above the list price. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014...
I paid a 'premium' for an RS5 to get it on launch, never again.... Happily wait a few more months

By the way is there actually any reliable source that there is an 8 month waiting list??
I think that trick only works for a few months before everyone catches on.Remember the E60 M5 and its "12 month" waiting list back in September 2005? Come June 2006 they were at dealerships hovering around the £50,000 mark.

I thought as much. I seem to remember the RS5 prices hovering above list for the first 2-4 weeks, then dropping off a cliff after about 4 months. Remember the E60 M5 and its "12 month" waiting list back in September 2005? Come June 2006 they were at dealerships hovering around the £50,000 mark.
If you want a laugh, I found a private seller trying to flog a factory order for £71k on AutoTrader. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014...

I had heard a rumour that my local has got a full order book for the rest of the year, but not 100% sure if that's concrete or not. Will enquire more if I like the test drive enough

I had a good sniff around an Austin Yellow one at BMW Welt a few weeks ago. It's an impressive looking car and the colour did show its lines off well, I just can't help thinking it'll become a bogey colour in the longer term. There doesn't seem to be an option for 'individual' colours on the BMW configurator, but I'd definitely go for Atlantis Blue if I were in the market for an M4. Anyway, by the magic that is Photoshop ...Schermerhorn said:
He had better be quick. He probably has the next month, if that, to try and shift that. The colour is marmite and the lack of rave reviews won't help either. I wish him the best but that is one tough sell IMO unless demand is REALLY hot.
Been dropped by over £2k in one day....
Now down to just shy of £70k: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014...spunko2010 said:

I wish him the best in selling it but I fear he'll have to keep dropping the price until it gets in line with the rest of the market ie circa £65k. Whilst they are awesome cars no doubt, I could never pay that sort of money - or even want to finance - for a new car.

I think my Photoshopping may be a little off as Atlantis Blue is darker, deeper and more turquoise than Yas Marina Blue. Here's an E36 M3 in Atlantis Blue ...

It's quite odd because on my work monitor it looked very similar but on this different PC it couldn't be more different. I have to say I prefer that to the YMB.
