Hi Guys,
I have put my 993 cab up for sale on Ebay, as i hardly ever use it,
i put it on at a high reserve just to see what it would fetch, and it's almost there already!
now i'm pooping myself that i should really just keep it, as these cars are a good investment,
I don't need the money, but I am short on storage space,
Am I stupid to sell her?
i've had it 4 years and done about 4,000 miles in it,
last year only about 400 miles
it's a Carrera with the Tipronic s gearbox, 99k miles

I have the same car in blue and I love it to bits. However it seems that there are a few of them around at the moment at relatively (for 993s) low prices. The kind of 993s that are climbing strongly in price are coupe/manual/varioram (the more of these variables the better) as these are seen as 'enthusiast cars'. When people who think they fancy a 993 start googling, many are probably swayed by the anti-tiptronic/cabriolet attitudes held by many. I do not foresee a huge capital gain in mine but I love it and use it all the time. My estimate of what you could ask would be around 21-24K depending on condition, although there are dealers asking nearer 30K. They may go up in price however when coupe/manual/varioram become unattainable and people are happy with any 993 they can get.

Aircooled cars are on a high at present, but the focus for standard cars are a manual C2 coupe (not a tip Cabriolet).

Depending if you believe we're in a bubble (I do) or not then it could be a good time to sell.

I don't see good cars dropping much but it may take longer to sell them.

I wouldn't sell via eBay, a good ad in the PH Classifieds should do the job!

Update,
I removed the car from sale today,,,,,it had more than a day to go and reached £18,100,
i had an offer of £19,000 to remove it from ebay etc,,, but i reckon it would have reached £20,000 in the end,
as I didn't need the money, I decided to keep her, but would trade up to a more desirable 993 in the future, (coupe, Manual, or possibly a Turbo)
there may be a bubble as there is more confidence about money now than there was 4 years ago,,

Many thanks guys,
here's another picture for you before i go,,

Your car looks very nice.

Impossible to predict the future, but if you were thinking of selling then now might be sensible - there is strong interest in the best air-cooled cars, right time of the year and economic optimism.

The good thing about the 993 is it is 'collectable' and 'useable'. Although the very strongest demand does seem to be for Coupe/Manual/Varioram/Low Miles cars, there will be plenty of buyers wanting a Cab and Tip.

Not sure if I'd put it on eBay - really well worded ad with first class pics on PH classifieds at your target price might give you more control.
