Two Chimaeras in my gang along with a 1968 Sunbeam Alpine V, a 1968 Porsche 912 (3 litre six), an Aston Martin V8 Vantage and one Triumph Bonnie.

This is my second Le Mans Classic, it was amazing two years ago and this year should be even better as we've gone all luxury by staying on the Pistonheads/1st Tickets site.

Can't wait bounce

Hi,

I am the second Chimaera in ChipOnGas's gang and again it's my second Le Mans Classic too, I went in 2012…

I’ll be the Frenchman (living in London) in the dirty 500 and looking forwards to outdrag the Aston when leaving the “payage” (as I did in 2012) and making him wonder why that “crappy old plastic cheapy assembled by drunkhead in Blackpool” accelerates a little harder that it’s 420 bph Posh Aston…

I am really, really looking forwards to it as in the last year or so I have done less than 500 miles in the “Blackpool rocket”: we have a 14 month old son and there are not enough seats in the TVR, so she’s become a bit of a garage queen… SO the idea of doing about 1000 miles with the boys brings a smile to my face….

Safe trucking, see you at Le Mans!

Frenchie!

This will be my third time with my father to the classic, great event but could be better, and out stead for this year will be the the TVR 420 SEAC that was there 2 years ago if any one was in the TVR parking on the inner circuit looking rather dirty hehe
Hope you all have a safe drive over and enjoy the event and may even speak

Yep - third classic trip in 2008 & 10 (missed 2012 went to Spa instead) my Chim 500 and Elise mk1 will be heading down Thurs eve for Friday crossing and taking an extended stay coming back late Tuesday evening after a couple of days touring. We stretch the long weekend out more each year....

Always an excellent event (especially over the LM 24 hours) but it would be nice to have a change to a key event somewhere in Southern France but more difficult to achieve over a long weekend.

Not a moan but we have noticed since 2002 the costs spiralling such as ferries etc over this weekend and the increased plod activities even on backroutes which see you as a cash cow rather than for qany real enforcement - having said that always a great boys weekend away to play with the toys.

Can the Silverstone Classic really compete with LM which always seems to clash with the dates ?

My 3rd Classic this year and I'm so excited already I'm driving the other 3 people in our group mad.

2 TVRs staying in Maison Blanche.

Interesting what Andy JB says though. I've been on the lookout for something to fill in the Classic Le Mans gap year other than LM24 and had considered Spa 24 for next year
Anybody with experience of other major events in Europe?

I did the Spa classic in 2011 and 2013, not 24 hrs but a 2 day event that gets a good turn out of cars.
