Changing Y piece

I`ve just had to fit the exhaust Y piece ready for the MOT, what a pain ! Lots of gentle persuasion with a hide faced mallet I had a huge gap on the right hand joint, now closed with a bit of leverage. Clives Y piece may be off for a while as I`ve got to work on my S, body bolts, re-hanging the passenger door, rebuilding the cooling system, seats etc etc, the joys of TVR ownership

I use a ratchet strap around both manifolds to close the gap on mine

Added to the ratchet tip which is a top one, run a rotary wire brush around the mating faces , gets all the old grud off easily and lets them but up well

I made sure the mating faces were spotless, we don`t want exhaust gases under the bonnet
