Finding RV8 ECU Fault Codes
Discussion
Hi All,
My first visit to this hallowed Forum so I hope that you will forgive my general ignorance.
I have a friend over here (Luxembourg) who has a Griff and he sent me this email recently…
”Would you have an ECU fault reader for the rover V8 I could try ? I am convinced my Griffith is running too fat which is also the reason my engine compartment gets extremely hot as the unburned fuel gets burned in the cat. I will try to change the temperature sensor but I was wondering if you have some experience with diagnostic equipment. On the net I found the software RoverGauge that allows to connect your PC to the ECU.
Any experience or suggestions ?”
Being a Cerb owner that question would be answered by “Yes, download the ECU Diags from the Web, install on your laptop, hook it up to the ECU with a serial/USB cable and Robert is your father’s sister’s husband.”
I believe that is not the case with the RV8 and hoped hat someone could give us a guide, in similar fashion to the above-mentioned Cerb guide.
Can anyone help – or at least point us in the right direction ?
Ta !
Paul J.

This will give you a lot of information about the inner workings of the 14CUX including the fault codes and what they mean.
