Just an extract from the guys who sort the sprint get togethers.

As you can see apart from the more common or garden cars there are a few nice "bits of kit".

If you exclude the few specialist cars, (Caterham RS500s etc.) the tivs are right up there with the quickest.

Serious Kudos to Steve in the Tuscan for a storming lap and praise to Jonny in his 430 chim, (he's turning into my Nemesis!).

All in all, "Not too shabby"!

I'm aiming for a return visit in August(as soon as the dates are announced).

I've changed the mahogany back tyres for the rubber type and would be happy not to be the slowest TVR!
Unfortunately on the day there weren't any points for style which would obviously have meant I would have won rofl

Never done a trackday, crap tyres, wrong sort of clouds, didn't want to embarrass the regulars, I was scared of crashing etc .........that's my excuse getmecoat

well the age old saying is false then, there is a replacement for displacement biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

in all fairness 1.26 is still a cracking lap! and we all know on a full track day with room to fully open the tap on your beast you will trounce me! Whilst the times are interesting to see I just enjoy the days for banter and the sound of screaming exhausts!

anyone thinking they would like to do track days but unsure of it, come down, even just to spectate and maybe try a lap out at lunch, no one expects people to be on the limit straight away, in fact its highly encouraged to start slow and build up your speed from there, that way there are less accidents!

dont suppose anyone knows who was taking the pics last week aside from Jord?

And driving difference, the tam driver was one handed most of the day so not really 'pushing it'

As I said above though, it's not a proper sprint day, people don't go to be the fastest, they go to explore their cars and their own capabilities in a safer environment on the road, the times do add some fun, the 2 caterhams had a great battle last week and Peter and I have a a good bit of banter with them, but also helps you see what different things you do van change your times and make you faster.

Just had a look at the web site I couldn't see any open days do you have to join the SDCC to participate, I fancy a go its two and a half hours away so not to bad, how many runs are you likely to get.

If anyone is interested in having ago, please PM me and I'll answer any questions etc.

It's just a shame you couldn't catch the GTR Jony, you were nearly there!! We've got another day tomorrow, so expect another update on the leaderboard.
