BMW X5 stolen in. Mansfield, owner in critical condition

Friend was selling his X5, had a viewing of the car, then they decided to steal it.
Said friend tried to stop them getting off, however he was run over in the process and is currently in hospital with serious head injuries and in a coma.
A quick heads up to keep eyes open for the car, in case it's parked up.
It's light green, reg when stolen, DV06 VCW.

Sorry to hear that.I think the scum would get rid of the car very soon after.So I would look around about five-ten miles away,just off main roads leading out of town.

Might get lucky and in their rush to get away have left fingerprints some wear in the car.

Interesting. I'm from Mansfield and I saw someone posting a letter from the BiB that was pushed through their door appealing for info (they live nearby). The BiB had written on the letter is was a 5 series M Sport?

Yeh. So old that you'd think not really worth stealing, never mind running someone over for.

More to this than meets the eye I reckon. So sort of past conflict or grudge going on. Might have been specifically targetted.

Plenty more expensive metal to go out and steal.

Thieving scum will steal anything, don't suppose they planned to run anyone over but when owner tried to stop them they floored it. Think its quite a leap to saying it was a premeditated revenge attack... either owner would have known them or they would have got in help to do this? More reasonable someone thought local sale of older car would be easy to steal I think. This is by no means the first time something like this has happened, and going by news reports I've seen there not generaly super cars.

Your original post and title says X5, but that article says 'BMW Saloon'. Which is correct?

The article also says the incident occurred at the car park of National Tyres.
