Paceman ownership
Discussion
Went into the dealers today to book my Mini hatch's service and sat in the new MINI; it was OK though I'm unconvinced by the new dash layout (the fuel gauge ?? on the right of the speedo looked very amateur). Then sat in the Paceman. Oops. Perhaps it was the familiarity of the controls but I really liked it and the extra boot space would be welcome.
I'll be back at the dealership for the service in a few days, so would any Pacemen (and Pacewomen, of course) tell me how they've got on with theirs? Bank manager will probably prefer it if the word 'terrible' is used...

We have a Paceman SD and a new F56 Cooper.
I have not really used the speedo on the F56 as use Head up display for that. I can see were your coming from. You can also change the OBC to show speed as digital on the screen under the speedo.
The paceman is pretty fun to drive. Seams well balanced. Space wise there is more then enough we dint need rear doors as don't travel with full car all the time. But we did have 4 and 2 big suitcases in the back on an airport run and was more then enough room.
Make sure you get the flatload boot as is pretty useful.

I've had my Paceman for a fortnight now, love it. Absolutely love it. The Cooper S nose is nice and aggressive, the massive shoulder line at the back and the driving position for a 6'4"er is spot-on. Love the MINI familiarity with the larger car feel, the view over the wide, ridgey bonnet etc. Mine is an All4 too, grips like s**t to a blanket and feels very stable. Steering is nice in Sport and amazingly it rides far better on Sport Suspension and the 19" Runflats than my '09' Cooper S Hatch does on 17s!!
