There seems to be such a difference in prices in servicing from my local specialists, for example top gear automotive charge £370 or a full 12k service. My other local is £570. What's the difference!? Surely they all follow the same service schedule or am I mistaken! Any recommendations in the staffordshire/stoke area?

I used TGA a few months ago to fix my clutch, nice fella.

Small unit, one man, lower overheads is the main reason I think. Knows his TVRs though, IMHO.

Top gear automotive is about a 40 minute drive but well worth it to save £200! How long does a 12k service usually take?

It should take a full day to properly complete a 12k service. Every fluid ans filter is changed, along with the prop being greased (which needs the exhaust removed to do) etc.

So a 7hr day, at an hourly rate of £40, that's £280. Then say £100 for half decent consumables engine oil, brake fluid etc?

So yeah, chuck in £20 of fuel to get to the garage and back, and theres no change from £400.

If ot were cheaper, I'd be suspicious as to the quality of the fluids going in, and / or the time spent on doing it correctly.
