After some deliberating Ive decided to start looking for a GTV 3.0.

Luckily I stumbled across this forum, so hopefully someone out here could help me? Please!

I keep seeing several variations of an 'Aero Kit' would a standard kit include the mesh grills on the front side skirts? And include a Pininfarina Logo or is the car ive seen a limited edtion.(Black with Tan leather front&side skirts with rear spoiler and metal side air vents) This car looks amazing on a S-plate if it helps.

I'd like to get something very similar or can this kit be brought and attached to a 3.0 24v?

Thanks

Greg

The aero kit is an Alfa Romeo approved product made by Zender.
www.zender.de/tuning_english/alfa/alfa.php?id=20
It will fit all GTVs. It was standard on the limited edition GTV Cup (3.0 V6) which were all red.

To be honest, you might be as well joining www.gtvv6.com/phpBB2/index.php

Was about to mention that site but you beat me to it! p.s. if you're there take a look at the "Will it kill me thread" which I thought it was amusing! Rich...

As has already been noted, GTVV6.com is where you need to be. The Classifeds forum can be quite interesting in that occasionally members' cars come up for sale in there for one reason or another, and searching their past posts can tell you a lot about the car's history.

The mesh grilles on the front wings are available from Alfa and are standard on the Cup limited edition.

All 916 model GTVs have a Pininfarina logo on the rear 3/4 panels. Later models add the "F" shield above the logo.

Ok, its definately not a Cup, then. Black and tan is quite an unusual combination, but it sounds lovely!

The "standard" aerokit as supplied by Alfa is a rear wing plus deep front lip. IMO there's nothing out there to beat Alfa's wing, but the front lip looks a bit odd to me. There's plenty of alternatives, though, check out Alfaholic's GTV for a lovely body kit (IIRC its parts from several different manufacturers) and mine for a "standard" GTV with only the rear wing.

If it has the "F" it means it was built by Pininfarina.
If it doesn't have the "F" it was built by Alfa Romeo.

my bro has one of these - fantastic car for the cash and probably the closest thing to an early 90's ferrari interior outside of Moderna.

Driving position if you're tall howeverr is pants. Would ahve bought one myself long ago but for the fact that I almost always end up with a sore back if I drive his for any length of time.

Sounds damn fine when you put your foot down too..

I know... I had to wait extra long for mine as they were in the middle of shifting production to Pininfarina

I'm 6'2" and don't find it a particular problem, despite driving it almost every day for the last (nearly) 4 years. Definately could be better, but its not as bad as many.

One thing to note is that the optional sunroof robs a good couple of inches of headroom, so look for one without if your 6'+

Well, mine's one of the very 1st Pininfarina-built examples (so I'd potentially expect teething problems).

The only glitch I'm aware of is a front suspension joint that was assembled incorrectly. Other than that, its held up to the rigours of being a daily drive very well - no bits of trim have fallen off (yet )

That'll be the issue then I think.
Still I love the interior, remember nearly buying a 348 a few years back, sat in my bro's GTV and realised the GTV interior beat the hell out of the ferrari in all respects.
