More eBay fun - advice please

As background I use eBay every now and then, have about 200 feedback all positive.
I recently sold a damaged designer bag - the damage being a large water stain to the bottom.
I clearly explained the damage and showed it (I thought) pretty clearly in the photos, photos clearly show size and location of stain.
Bag duly sold and I was very happy with price, approx £100 for a bag originally costing approx £500. Paid via PayPal and bag posted by courier.
Bidder has now complained to me that the stain is worse than she thought and photos show, and says colour has faded from blue to green (colour has not faded at all and is original, and bag was described as green) and bag is not worth what she paid for it.
Wants a partial refund (40%!) or full return and refund (my listing clearly states no returns)
I don't think I have done anything wrong here but concerned eBay err on the buyers side.
What will eBays stance on this be?

Get your retaliation in first - contact ebay and ask them to log your concerns - say the bag WAS accurately described and that the new owner has buyers remorse. If it goes as far as raising a case that should be on file.
Tell the buyer that you don not accept returns and if they are suffering buyers remorse suggest they relist the item themselves and you will fight any attempt at a refund being given.

Thanks, I have registered this incident with eBay, will now go back and politely explain the item was correctly described and so there is no case, I may offer a small refund as a goodwill gesture Tell the buyer that you don not accept returns and if they are suffering buyers remorse suggest they relist the item themselves and you will fight any attempt at a refund being given.

I'm pretty sure the buyer pays the return postage. You only give the refund when you receive the item.
Pay the refund by paypal cheque to wind them up (takes forever & a day to clear)
The buyer cannot then leave you feedback as the case is closed in the manner they requested.
That was the path I followed recently when a chancer tried to extort some money from me for a made up problem.
PS you cannot fight a refund. The buyer will raise a case. Ebay will take your money first & argue later. You will get wound up. Don't go there!
Unless the rules have changed in the last few months (I no longer sell there, not worth the aggro/fees)

if she opens a case and doesnt get what she wants, ebay will refund her
it'll come out of your account and then you'll be lucky to get the item back
seriously, she is not the kind of person you want to be dealing with, take a knock on the postage, ask her to send it back and refund her in full when it's back safely with you
you can try what people are saying, but honestly, ebay's new policy is you get what you want or you get a refund. its open to a lot of abuse
but on the bright side i did get a free radiator, even if it wasnt quite the right one

This sounds very frustrating considering you were very clear in your advertI about the damage and colour. Unfortunately, i think with the ebay rules the buyer will win this one
I 've just had the reverse happen to me.
I just purchased an Iphone 5 it was described "very good condition tiny mark on right hand side of screen can barely be seen as is on the white bit of the phone". I was thinking this would be a small scratch or some sort of surface mark that you could hardly see.
When I got the phone it actually has a 1cm crack in the screen that is visible. It doesn't affect using the phone, I just think that a crack will only get worse with use and eventually I'll have to replace the screen.
What are you thoughts, should I mentioned this to the seller and expect a slight reduction or am i being unreasonable?

THis is what she was hoping for, you would roll over and give some her money back if she complained.
I would ask her to return to you tracked, then refund the price but not postage.
She will only return it if she was genuine.
he important wording here is "TRACKED" make sure you make it perfectly clear no refund shall be given unless its recorded/tracked delivery. I would ask her to return to you tracked, then refund the price but not postage.

As if she is pullin one she ll defo give you the ive posted it rubbish, when its still sat in front of her sorry ass.

The rules say the buyer has to return to you , at their cost, to receive a refund. They will need to have it tracked at their cost to prove you do indeed receive it as you only refund upon receipt...
Had an issue recently with a return. Seller had an old address on his account. Ebay instructed me to return to this. He then decides he does not live there, and in any case it has not been delivered, although signed for. Ebay issued refund,Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
