New Alfa Romeo specialty car

There won't be one. They need to get the Giulia launched and then replace the MiTo and Giulietta in the coming years. Don't expect a 911 rival, one of them is coming from Maserati and the two brands won't play in the same space.
Yeah this, Maserati will take it, Alfa's badge isn't up to much these days. The Alfieri will take on the 911 - which I have a great deal of confidence in as even the big Maserati GT was loved by everyone in the handling department despite it size, so a SWB version should be ace given it will be under 1400kgs.Plus there were rumours of a mid engine v6 Maserati some years back, most likely with the 4c tub and the Bi turbo from the Ghibli, but Im still waiting for that (1100kg with 450-500bhp were the rumoured stats

Alfa will hopefully have a car to rival the 3 series, and when they stick the Maserati Bi Turbo v6 in it, an M3/M4 rival!
When they hot up the 4c, Im sure some mags will test it with a Carrera S if Alfa go silly on the pricing!
From the picture its clear that Alf will make a new sports car after the 3-series rival.I say its a 911 rival because Alfa is getting a 500hp Ferrari V6 and the 4c chassis could me modified to accommodate it creating a Jag F-type r/911 4s rival positioned between Maserati's upcoming Alfieri and Granturismo.

The new 'special' car from the picture, will be the 4C GTA. 300bhp, bit lighter, hopefully with the speciale's gearbox, bigger price tag.
Don't expect a new car, they have a lot of milking to do of that 4c platform yet!

The thing is FIAT already have the 911 rival, the Alfieri, FIAT wont step on their own toes, that's why Maserati came back with a really big GT car at 80k, because Ferrari didn't have one.

First of all there won't be any 4c GTA,its going to be called the 4c Quadrifoglio and secondly if the new sports car in the pic is indeed the 4c Quadrifoglio then shouldn't the Giulietta and Mito Quadrifoglio be shown. The new 'special' car from the picture, will be the 4C GTA. 300bhp, bit lighter, hopefully with the speciale's gearbox, bigger price tag.

The Maserati Alfieri is a comfortable GT and is aimed at the lower 911s.
The Alfa 911-rival will be in essence, the new Ferrari Dino and many people will buy it for that reason.

Regardless of the name, in late 2015/2016 there will be a new 4c model, with less weight and more power if rumours are to be believed. Alfa would be thick not too capitalize.Hence this,
I don't think Alfa bothered to class the Mito and Giulietta Qaudrifoglio as they, firstly, aren't really important as they are axing the cars off soon, and secondly, they aren't really that different from the standard spec. Most rumours are that the 'new' 4c will be in the same vein as the Superleggera, Scuderia, GT3 RS, so hopefully something rather more extreme than just some different wheels and a bit more power.

Re-read the Alfieri media packs and reports,The Alfa 911-rival will be in essence, the new Ferrari Dino and many people will buy it for that reason.
PH Alfieri report Fri 20th June said:
"The GranTurismo is a GT and Alfieri is a sports car," head of global design for parent company Fiat, Lorenzo Ramaciotti..."The Alfieri is a 2+2, you'll not have more space there than you have in the 911 or Audi TT."
Its not been marketed as comfortable GT. Rather a mildly useable sports car.It isn't just aimed at the lower 911s either,
PH Alfieri report Fri 20th June said:
The Alfieri, named for one of the founding Maserati brothers, will be exclusively powered by V6 turbo engines and will be offered with either rear-wheel drive in the lower powered 350hp version or four-wheel drive in the 450hp and 520hp options. A cabrio will also arrive a year later in 2017.
The top v6 models will have their sights on the 911 turbo (513 bhp) and a lesser extent GT3 non RS models, as well as the top F type, Vantage v12s, and R8 v10 plus. So Maserati are going straight for the heart of the market with their 520bhp 4wd model. You seem rather adamant that there will be a new mid engined model, unless you have inside knowledge I doubt there will be a 'new' Alfa model, as much as I'd like one. And it certainly wont be a 911 rival unless it's a re-bodied Alfieri with an Alfa badge - even which I highly doubt as early as 2016.
FIAT group don't do toe stepping, for the same reason they didn't bring back the Lancia Stratos, despite the massive love the Scuderia based Michael Stoschek 2010 Stratos received, they wont do an Alfieri rival in their own camp. I'd love to see Alfa leave the Fiat group as very little has been done recently (30 years...) that lives up to their stunning history.
They most likely will do a 4c tubbed car in the future, but it wont step on the Alfieri's toes, most likely they will drop the v6turbo into a 4c tubbed chassis and go GT3 RS hunting for 120-50k, but even still I think they would use the Trident badge over the Basilisk.

I'd put money on a 6C. FR configuration based on the new Giulia and what the Brera should have been...
I expect the Giulia will be offered as a 'saloon' and as a 2dr 'coupe', much like the 3series and 4 series variants. Hopefully they will drop the Maserati Biturbo in it and go M3/rs4/c63 AMG hunting!Fantuzzi said:

I agree ......Lancia Stratos, the Lancia Fulvia concept would have been huge marketing successes .....can't think of a another multi national that consistently fails to capitalise on its brands. Edited by Fantuzzi on Monday 30th June 14:52

The Alfa on the right in the first pic looks like a bad 8c replica. What is it? The TZ3 is the one on the left i assume.
The one on the right is the TZ3 Corsa one off, its 850kg race car with a 500bhp (I think) Maserati 4.3 v8. It is awesome. The one on the left is the TZ3 Stradale, which isn't so awesome as it has a viper engine for some strange reason (not exactly a road going version if it has a completely different engine capacity, number of cylinders and manufacturer...)

Cheeky booger! Both the top ones are Zagato designs (spot the double bubble?). Both are TZ3s. AFAIK, both use the Viper lump, which is GM (with a little development work by Lamborghini at the time)(and therefore FIAT). Zagato are responsible -- many would argue -- for some of the most gorgeous cars ever produced.
GM -- aka FIAT -- have a rather more suitable V8 available now. TZ4, anyone?
