Michelin Pilot Sports.....wow! Tyre Pressures?
Discussion
Installed all four corners with MPSS this week. They replaced MPS N1's.....In a nutshell if you're even debating whether you should or not, do it! The enhanced grip and reduced road noise is worth it alone! I paid £950 for the set for your reference.
Any thoughts on what I should be running for general road use? Set at 36PSI for the rears and 33PSI for the fronts.

Its a C2S 2009....the standard pressures are up to 44PSI in the rear, hence my question.
Ah, a favourite topic of mine...!The user manual will quote loaded and unloaded tyre pressures. I find on 997 C2 and C2S, the lower (unloaded) tyre pressures give best comfort and feedback. Most Porsche centres seem to set pressures at the higher of the 2 settings during the multi point check, and the higher pressure can cause a C2 to feel 'busy' at the front end, particularly at high speed.
Invest in a proper digital pressure gauge (£75), and check your pressure in the morning before driving. Manufacturer pressures are stated at 20C ambient, you may need to adjust the pressures if it is much colder or warmer than this.
If you are driving on a track, you will need to drop your pressures after a few laps, but be sure to re inflate them before driving home.
If you don't have Tyre Pressure Monitoring as standard, I can recommend a TyrePal (of course I have no relationship to the company - I'm just a satisified customer).
I'm afraid I've gone all Euro and switched from PSI to bar, but for my T4S I set the fronts at 2.3 and the rears at 2.5. After a good drive in this milder weather, the fronts will go up to 2.5 (occasionally 2.6), the rears 2.8 (occasionally 2.9). Hope this helps. (I'm running MPS2s.)
