NT4 Software RAID
Discussion
Observe, muppetry.
Somehow i've managed to find yet another original way of knackering up a server. How and why aren't important right now, neither is the complete non existance of any form of backup.
Basically i need to know whether i can take the clodding great big external SCSI disk box off and plug it into another NT4 server and still have all the data on the 3 disk raid5 volume. It's all been created via Disk manager in NT4. Is there a clever way to remount this as the existing drive?

Only if you install it in an IDENTICAL system (otherwise NT4 will probably NOT find the boot partition and you will BSOD).
Do you have the Raid enabled EBD (Emergency Boot Disk)? No? Thought not. Try just unplugging one of the raid drives (controller or power cable) and see if the system reports a bad drive and lets you boot as normal. Try each of the drives in turn. If you get her up - MOVE YOUR DATA...
