well lads
been surfing these threads for a while now but never actually bit the bullet and join the forum to upload my own motors
i'm from Ireland and only 18 but have a passion for old fords
i part own these cars with my father and we love to give them a new lease of life

i'll start off with the escort
its a 1980 popular plus , originally from Manchester with 12'000 genuine miles when we got it
it has a 1.3 engine and 4 speed box for the moment but we hope when the other projects are done to upgrade this to a 1.8 zetec on a 5 speed box.
we restored this car top to bottom to the best of our abilities
it isn't to every ones taste but we love it

the second car is a mk4 cortina. originally an english car too
1977 , 1.3 and 4 speed , this is currently under restoration awaiting a bottle of gas to start the welding.
some one in the past previously botched it and there is a lot of body fillers used along with fiberglass.....
plan for this is a red top or zetec engine and a 5 speed , depending on money it'll be LSD or welded diff for some sideways fun





and the third car :

is a mk1 fiesta, 1978, 1.1, 4 speed, very basic
only purchased this during the week
plan is to do the rust spots on it, (few more than i originally though) , tidy it up , with a bit of luck i might get some insurance on it for an everyday motor. while on the road then i hope to gather mk2 escort running gear and eventually do an un-arched RWD conversion on it.
kinda a sleeper look to it

Nice collection of old Ford metal! My first car was a Mk V Cortina, with the 2L Pinto..back in 1989. Had loads of Ford's since then..culminating in my current steed, Focus ST

My first car in 2000 was a 1980 fiesta much like that. It was orange, and very basic. CRV 548W. What ever happened to you

i do love to hear peoples stories of their previous cars, and pics too if they have them

yep the 12000 mile was a very lucky find and it is genuine too as the MOT certs are all there , very few miles done from one year to the next on the mot's ,in some cases 50 miles, old couple owned it from new.
