49,999 miles but not ONE more

I bought my Griffith at 29k miles, and when it got to 29,999 I noticed that the milometer in the speedo stuck. I wasnt sure what to do about it, I was heading for a ferry to France at the time. Anyway, it eventually clicked over and off we went again. I had a suspicion that it was just after a reverse that it corrected. At 39,999, exactly the same, and again, was it when I reversed that it clicked back into place and worked ok again? I now show 49,999 for the last 20 miles or so; I have put it into reverse a couple of times but no change. Any ideas please? John

When mine has done this, a heavy tap to the top of the dash has got it working again, or you may find just going over a pothole will jolt it into action.

Had similar problem with my Griff - but stuck with every '9'.....
Eventually (when I couldn't get a big enough piece of wood to hit it with!!) I sent it off to 'Speedy Cables' for repair.
It's been fine ever since
