itchy feet, bit bored, any suggestions?

I currently drive a 2013 skoda octavia vrs estate, diesel version and generally like the car however having had it 15 whole months i have reached my usual itch feet stage. Probably because a couple of things have started to grate on me a little, the interior and the road noise.

So my car is maybe worth about 14k ish and with a bit of cash i could have about 18k ish to spend on a different car.

So can anyone recommend any alternatives to me?

Must be an estate, decent performance, nice interior and refined, ideally less than a year old but if not as new as possible.

I have a thing for Subaru , so a test drive of a 2.0i Legacy would be the first thing I did. Also quite like the Mazda 6 in estate form. Hear good things of the 6 for driving.

Subaru Forester - we have an older 2.5T, goes well, much cheaper to buy than your £18k, but fun. Road noise not great though. More characterful than an Audi/BMW/Merc though.
