Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the Cerbera they could send me? I'm investigating some door problems and it would be very useful.

The drivers door works fine the problem is with the passenger door.

Neither the inside or outside buttons will open the door. The glass does not drop, nor is there any sound from the solenoid. When the lights are turned on, the little green LED in the interior button does not light (it does on the drivers side).

The window and mirror still work, so I can open the door by lowering the window and using the manual release.

When the door is open, the interior lights don't come on, so I'm wondering if all of this is related to the magnetic switch in the lower door frame.

Also if anyone knows how the door control unit works, that would be great!

IF you ever touch any of the fuses in the fuse box PLEASE make sure the car is out of gear. Removing one makes the starter motor turn over and over... :notsofun:

My dad made a fuse box diagram which I can get at the weekend if you really need it, however as with all things TVR, no two cars are the same. Our specialist has seen several differently wired cars, bizarre...

Hi BCA, I've got the owners manual which tells me which fuses go where, but if you one if more detailed, I'd like a copy!

My last car was a '76 3000M, so I know what TVR wiring can be like

The old car was a bit simpler though

Have a look at the earth on the 12 way connector. I assume it's inside the door panel but I didn't get that far on my car. It seems to be the only thing common with the magnet, inner, outer release buttons and illumination. Do the mirrors work because as far as I can make out they have a separate common/earth and will probably work if I am looking at this right.

You will see what I am talking about when you look at the diagram.

By the way, I'm in no way electrically minded so I'm probably talking cack.

Interesting.....the diagram hasn't arrived yet, but I'll check it out. The mirror and the window still works, so your 12-way connector theory sounds good.

It's a big file for email so will probably get there eventually.

The window buttons by the radio aren't linked to the 12 way so should work. Only the circuit that allows it to drop/go up when the door is opened/closed is on the 12 way so if they do not do that then it's a possible maybe.

Fraid I don't know where the earth goes to. That part isn't scanned very well but you could probably follow the wires back through the door and under the dashboard.

If it hasn't arrived by lunchtime tomorrow I'll try again.

Thanks Andy, that fits my theory. By playing around with the door control unit, I figured out that one of the 4 block connectors on it ontrols the window drop, and one of the others controls the solenoids for the doors and boot.

So by disconnecting the solenoid one, the drives door glass would drop, and the solenoid wouldn't operate. The reverse is true with the window connector removed from the unit.

The fact that neither button works makes me think that no signal is getting the control unit from the passenger door.

Anyway, the diagram will be a real help!

i messed with the fuse box once, on my Cerb.. the fans didn't come on so it got hot, so i started with the obvious. i pulled all the fuses one by one as there no top cover on mine, blimey these fuses are awkward to get out. (now i keep pliers) anywho after i checked them all i closed the boot. and thats when i realised, all the doors lock when re-powered and i was locked out 45 miles from home in Chester on a garage forecourt.. slightly embarrasing.. if your wondering where the remote fob was, well i just used to throw it in the centre cubby hole probley like a lot of cerb owners. not any more though as it nestles in my pocket.

any way it did'nt solve the prob, let the car cool down, and because i wasn't far from the motorway i knew that bash air would be all i need to get home, also i just live 1 min off motorway junction.

i solved the problem when i got home, it was the temp sender connector, just crudded up with verdi.(green shite)

never missed since
lesson learnt, yes i was a div

Well, I had a look today and there is no 12-way connector, but there were 3, 4-ways

These were inside the passenger footwell where the door hinges are (by disconnecting these, the whole door can be removed).

Anyway, looks like corroded contacts, so I've just sprayed them with contact cleaner.

Excellent remote diagnostics Andy!

You must have the new and improved version.

They must have figured the diagnosing problems on 1 connector is just way too easy for us.

Glad everything is back to normal.
