V8D 5.4 first day out....to Goodwood...

Just running it in after first RR session - spent 4 hours at Mek Motorsport (Cheltenham) yesterday. On a basic/first map with no flames at the moment... (and mainly staying off the LPG for the first 1000m or so...).

Overslept this morning and didn't leave home until just before 0600 hrs (neighbours love me ) with eldest son shotgun (how does he sleep whilst I'm driving with no roof/127+db ?) and arrived at Goodwood FoS 135 miles later at c.0730 hrs to miss all the queues (no av. speed calcs please!).

Goodwood was fab and I think my car is positively quiet next to some of the machinery going up the hill.....

Caught queues on leaving car park at 6 but car well behaved in 1 hour stop start (apart from only going sideways up the metal ramps exiting the field LOL...). Played with (disposed of) a couple of Porsches and a DBS on the A272.... all I can say is this engine is NOT slower than my last one and sounds like a cross between a NASCAR and a Spitfire - was well worth the 9 months wait... looking forward to when I can go over 4k after my second RR later this week (after 500m).

Look forward to seeing you all on Saturday....GG RR shoot out here we come....

PS If anyone would like to come out for a quick blast on saturday please let me know....

I was at FoS too yesterday 8am to 4pm - no queues either way. Brilliant day out.

Love a run out in your beast sometime - won't be at growl though as got a wedding to go to
