Best way to sell a mechanics tools?

My brother in law passed away last year. He was always doing something (bikes, Jet skis, cars) and had a large garage/workshop. So, now the house is up for sale and we have to clear the garage. He had two snap on tool chests full of mechanics tools plus no end of bits and pieces.

Any ideas on where to sell them? Should they sold as a job lot or smaller pieces?

Any advice welcome.

If you want the best return and can afford the time then sell individually.
If you want to get rid then sell as one lot.

As above if you can spare the time group them and sell individually or as small sets, you will probably get a greater return on smaller sales than one job lot.

If selling on ebay, sell them such that they can be posted/shipped as you will get a lot more money for them as your potential market will be much bigger.

Snap-on sells well on there as do other branded items but you may stuggle with the lesser brands, so you could consider mixing and matching them together.

You won't have much choice with the cabinets but maybe a visit to a few local garages my get you some good money for them if they are in good nick. Check out ebay SOLD prices first before deciding on pricing.

I know that Snap-on P/EX tools so may buy them back. This of course depends on age and condition.

Snap-on are a favourite with the tea leafs so make sure the workshop is secure.
