Porsche Cayenne 957 Cranking / Starting issue - Help!

I have a Cayenne 957 Turbo. Not the usual High pressure fuel pump problem before I go on.. but a strange one all the same.. Insert the key into ignition and turn - sometimes it will turn over 1 or 2 times and then stop, then turn the key again and will crank/turn over as normal 4 times or so then start up. Have it in at an indy at moment.. it has had a new starter motor & battery fitted at the dealer last September apparently (prior to purchase). My man has checked all wiring, swapped over the starter relay and bypassed the starter relay - (the car will turn over continually), we've even swapped over the ignition switch - but still the same! - No related codes stored on Piwis, I'm being advised that possible fault on Kessy imobiliser/alarm control unit? - This is an expensive guess as a new unit is £300+ coding etc - has anyone had any similar issues / fixes?? PLEASE HELP!
