... to go with an i7 3500 (or something) MHz + 16gig RAM.

So... Having been out of the PC gaming game for ages, what do I do now?!?!

FPS I like. Racing sims, too. Recently all I've been playing is Quake 3 Arena and a little bit of Alien Breed! Not exactly pushing the specs.

I would download steam and have a look on there. Games like Crysis should run nice then you have Asetto Corsa, Grid Autosport etc

Unlucky - you've just missed the steam sale!
Arma 3 is worth a shout if you want a serious fps that'll melt your system.

Racing - iRacing and Assetto Corsa, Race Room (you have a wheel right?)

FPS - New Wolfenstein is fun, Bioshock games,

3rd Person - Watchdogs, Tomb raider.

Planetside 2 is a good (and free-to-play) combined arms FPS:

I just picked up Far Cry 3 in the recent Steam sale for pennies, but it's well worth paying full price for. Brilliant game and looks fantastic on my GTX770 rig, buttery smooth 60Hz at 1080p on Ultra.

Cheers fellas.

I've just given rFactor2 a go, using on the Xbox pad and on a monitor... seems good. I've got a G25 + a big screen so there's a good chance these racing sims will consume my life.

Tried Battlefield 3 again... ste. What's up with the mouse movement?! Why is it so jittery when the game is running at 60fps?! Ditto Crysis 2.

Skyrim, I'm stuck on an underground mission so couldn't ramp up the specs then have a look outside. Boring.

Far Cry Red Dragon - now that's a quality game!
