Hi guys

Wonderful sunny day and after 6 long weeks I picked up the DB9V from the body shop following my little mishap!

All was well, car looks great and handles beautifully, but oh no, she started to hesitate and stutter on the drive home, dashboard lights up with a warning reading: ENGINE SYSTEM SERVICE URGENT!

Luckily I was literally home and limped onto the drive. Turned her off hoping it was just a glitch. Let her cool down and started up again. This time the car really sounded like ste with the same warning as above but now also one saying EMISSIONS SERVICE REQUIRED.

Called Aston Assist, who are getting the car recovered to the stealers!

Any idea's astronauts? Coil Packs?

Thanks

Hmm - was the engine bay nice and clean?
Pressure-washing coilpacks could cause this..

Best not to try and drive it, as it could melt your cats...

I've had simular issue with my V8 Vantage - simply reset with an OBD reader as turns out it was a common problem with low voltage error P0133 this was in August 12 and has never occurred again (well that may change now!). Also reset the same issue on my son's friend's 2005 DB9'a couple of weeks ago.

I think if your seach here you'll find its a common problem.

I've had the Emissions service in my old V8V and V8VR and both times it was a sensor failure.

Can't comment on the other fault.

Just got news from the stealers, the car's PETEK Module had blown a 20 amp fuse which in turn shut one bank of cylinders off.

Stratstones are just checking the wiring loom to make sure there are no shorts as the PETEK module tested okay. They can't fathom whether the impact may have upset something, or there is a fault elsewhere that is unrelated.

:-(

Im certain the Emissions failure is due to a build up of Carbon around the air/oxygen sensors. They can be cleared and the error message reset. I had the same issue, happens a lot with town driving I understand.

Had the same system failure on my V12V. Sounds like a bag of spanners when one bank of cylinders shuts down! Mine was something about the throttle pedal which caused the limp mode activation and it was fine after the throttle pedal recall replacement was carried out.
