Cases of Port for Children x3

I have for a long time wanted to but a case of Vintage Port for each of my boys. Something for them to open on their birthday in years to come although at present I am not sure which birthday.
Born in 2005, 2007 and 2010 it has proved a little tricky.
2007 was a fantastic year where everybody declared however 2005 and 2010 not so.
I wanted cases from the same shipper which again proved to be a nightmare. The same shipper was important so that all boys had the same port so to speak, although the port for my middle boy will be far superior !
Maybe they will like it maybe they wont – hopefully we will share the bottles - maybe they will sell them and use the money for something else who knows. I would love to see the bottles opened on 18, 21, 25, 30, 40 and 50th birthdays but its theirs to do as they please with.
I am however thrilled with what has been found with some help from a port forum.
Bought and delivered from London City Bond they arrived at my work today.
Oak presentation boxes, each with a presentation book, a ceramic bin label and each bottle wrapped.
Fingers crossed they will like them when the time comes.

My dad did this on my 18th, well nearly.
For years he had been telling me about the special whisky that will be opened on my 18th birthday, come the day he did open it. Unfortunately I wrongly assumed we would be drinking it together instead he sat in a darkened room with soon music on!
I still remind him of this.

Love this idea. I've been thinking similar for my Son who was born in 2005. The timber case and ceramic label etc. add to the occasion of it all.
Judging by the London City Bond website I need to contact them direct as opposed to them having an online ordering facility?

The shipper/lodge Quinta do Vesuvio bottle in all but the poorest years and as you can see the Oak case, bin label, book (which is really lovely) and of course the port make for what I hope will be a really lovely gift.
I bought the 2005 and the 2010 from Corkr Fine Wines and the 2007 from Bon Coeur. The cases were in bond at the London City Bond, I paid for them to be removed from bond, paid the duty and VAT and then had them delivered to me in Sussex.

The duty, VAT and delivery will add maybe £100 to the cost.

Forgive me for saying so Kazste but that is a little harsh - I hope he has made it up to you since !
