Just bought myself some new discs and pads for all 4 corners and just wondered if the pistons in the calipers are push back with a set of grips or wind back with some kind of tool ? My car is a 1996 400.
TIA,

If you have an angle grinder it might be worth trying the 2 pronged spanner you use when changing grinding wheels.

Mine was just the right size for the rear pistons!!

Or angled circlip pliers will do the job.

Or a G clamp.. I found mine just spun with the angle grinder key... twist and push at the same time with a G clamp, they were straight back wink

The rear brakes as standard are from a Ford sierra cosworth, when I changed mine a few years ago I had a tool for a cortina in my garage and that worked.

Halfords, pretty inexpensive, then you have the correct tool forever!

I think I have this one;
