local council in camera rejection shocker!

found this article in my local rag. seems that not everyone is fooled into thinking cameras are a good idea. i also see brake managed (as usual) to stick thier oar in with thier predictable response.
mind you with a mighty petition of a whopping 150 names, its anyones guess why they even bothered handing it in to the council at all.
Shame the paper puts a negative spin on what seems like a lot of common sense from a local council.

I read that in the Newsshopper last night too and my first thought was that immediately speed was to blame when it was a head-on collision?!

Last time I checked, a speed camera was unable to stop you straying onto the wrong side of the road and ploughing into oncoming traffic...

BTW I'm not at all surprised at the paper's take on this as it's always been the paper of the Lentilist and the OAP...

if the nurse is anything like the ones that use the a127 in the mornings then she probably loves scameras cos they never get upto the speed limit and always hog the outside lane at 50-60mph.
