I am looking for a toggle switch that is on-off-(on) but doesn't cost the earth!

It is for the main beam...so momentary on for flash or the other way for a latching switch. However whereas the other toggles are costing around the £6 mark RS want £20 for the switch. Given I have 5 to buy Id rather not!

Unless anyone can come up with a better idea?

Perfect!

Spent an age trawling through different ideas....didn't think to put mom.

You need to tell us how much current you want to switch. This massively changes the number of options.

Maplin do a range of on-off-on switches: http://www.maplin.co.uk

VWP also sell them: http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/VWP-onlinest...

Quite often, you can use lower power switches + diodes and relays, as part of the logic for things like headlights.

Forgot to say ...

There is a lot to be said for using low current switches, wiring and logic, to reduce the amount of high current cable required. Only using high current cable between power source, relay and then load.
