The bite point is pretty close to the top of the pedal travel and i am fearing the worst...

i know the parts are about £100 but looking at the Haynes manual, its beyond me.

does anyone know a ballpark figure for clutch replacement?
its a 2000 1.6 (in a rather nice cherry red!)

Unless the clutch is starting to slip that may well be an actuation problem, not a wear problem.

As a Job we as a garage would charge £320+vat! parts and labour fully fitted. I suppose it depends on where in the country you live and there hourly labour rate.
