Slightly frustrating, but my Cerb has been off the road for around 9 months now, and after taking it to Neil Garner for MOT it failed on just one thing - the handbrake - although not due to lack of braking force as you would expect, but the lever itself. Apparently the ratchet is chewed up and is slipping. These are bespoke to the Cerb apparently - Griff/Chim and Tuscan and later models won't fit and you can't buy them new. So its sitting there MOT'less all because of the bloody handbrake ratchet!!

Don't suppose anyone has a spare lying around by any chance?

I wonder if you could take yours apart and have a go at it with a file or angle grinder to reshape/sharpen up the ratchet teeth?

I might have - I know I did but then again I may have binned it after having to move it to get to something else too many times..... I'll have a look when I get home and let you know.

Sorry - just hunted through garage and can't find it. Think I assumed I'd never need it (I only got it by accident) and skipped it.

Duncan, many thanks. I got hold of one via a breakers and it should be with me Tuesday. I suppose its a remnder that some parts really are going to get increasingly hard to source.

Great news. If you were stuck I was going to suggest if it was possible to rob mine just for the mot wink
