IVA question factory fitted HID low beam headlights OK ?

Looking to bring in a 2013 car from Japan.

Car is fitted with factory fitted HID low beam headlights with self leveling.

Guy who I have spoken to about dealing with the IVA test says VOSA will fail the car with HIDs and I need to have normal headlights fitted.

I get that if it was aftermarket HID's but factory fitted ??

I emailed VOSA who did not confirm either way so was wondering if anyone had any further information I can use ?

If they're self levelling it will pass, mine don't self level and it still passed

From what I remember they certainly can pass but have certain requirements, self-levelling being one.

Does it have washers? if not that will be the issue for the IVA.

Construction and use regs are different to the IVA regs
