Adrian@

Funny old game, some seem to "get away with it" while others don't

...same seems to happen with charity sales/auctions/fund raising!

Think you've earnt some brownie points there Adrian.... but how much to advertise it for? scratchchin

I'm not sure ...the reality is, I don't know the details of the car and as the OP (now he's fed up) is not likely to pop up and post that on forum that likes it's duck to be line up all in a row ...and rightly so. BUT advertising is free and you can never bring the price UP ...so I say price it high, and the have a 'SALE PRICE'....it works at all the carpet places.
Adrian@
PS, re charity etc. etc. IMHO you sort of need approach PH first, I'm sure they are lovely bunch of coconuts.

Since it's more rare than a Sag and they keep saying that the prices are high because of rarity so say £80,000.

(If I were buying it wouldn't bother me too much - I view a car and eith offer what I think it's worth or if after talking to someone you get the impression that a totally unrealistically high asking price is what they think it's worth, just walk.)

I see the threads gone but didn't the OP say he'd had it so long he wasn't really sure whether it was considered good condition or not anymore? How does that help gauge what a cars worth when they vary so massively?

Anwya again, as I previously posted, a very nice looking black 450SE sold through PH classifieds only last month or so and was priced at £10k - think it was PWD95s. The ad is here:

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...

discussion thread and pics to gauge against yours are here:

http://www.petrolheads.co.uk/xforums/topic.asp?h=0...

Bearing in mind there were only 35 of them it's a bit hard to price but I'll be brutally honest and say it's a more desirable colour combo than OPs IMHO - so anywhere from say 8/9k?

Its definitely in the wording of the initial thread..I guess there must be trigger words that bring any post to the attention of who it concerns..

Each year i email PH management to ensure that the advertising, Including price and sales surrounding the Wedge calendars can continue, It would be wrong for me to expect it so i respect it instead.

Also i know they are fully aware that i make not a single penny from any of it and my word is bound with written evidence.

I know it can be annoying when this kind of thing happens but don't let it spoil the rest of it as this is a really cool forum especially for the likes of us who need it as part of therapy...Namely me...wobble...Its busier than the TVRCC and even FB in most respects...The sense of humour is classic and the people are good as gold.."From virtual to Virtually"..I have made some good friends.

Now if i was thinking of selling my P&J..Which I'm NOT...and wanted a "Guestimate" then i would of said..."Whats yours worth to you" in the thread title and then say what you think yours is worth and pose the question about others...You will soon have one or two of us telling you that yours is worth more than you think...This way you are not seeming to be selling and fishing for buyers even if your not.

Turn the negatives into positives....And breath.......Right who wants to buy my drink

Maybe we should all post a price up for a part on each title and every post, could be quite entertaining
