New aussie owner of a TVR Tasmin 280i
Discussion
Gday to you all. My name is Pete, I am a new owner of a 280i (converted to carb) I am just going over it to make sure its all ok before I take it for a decent spin. I replaced the leads with some new ones which made the first and dramatic improvement. I am trying to find the part number for the distributor cap (its a blue motorcraft one - photos below) I would be most grateful if someone would be able to help me with the part number (i checked the part list but couldnt find it there)

Many thanks
Pete

G'day from across the ditch, I'm in NZ......
That blue cap means wedge probably was not an export model, as typically the Motorcraft caps were only used on UK domestic builds, German and export engines got Bosch dizzys. (as far as I know)
I have a couple of references which I copied from a box many years ago - may be of use...
5027473 (biggest font - probably part number)
920X 12106 AA (smaller font)
EDH109 (same smaller font)

Just a quick word of warning -
The Bosch caps are typically that reddish-sand colour (as the web link pic) , whereas the Motorcraft ones are the bright blue. The caps are not interchangeable (Bosch dizzy -> Mcraft dizzy).
However, just because that cap is red doesn't mean it HAS to be wrong... just be a little bit suspicious, and make sure you can return it !!

Thanks mate, its definitely a motorcraft one that's in there (has the motorcraft stamp)Seems to be hard for me to find a replacement but I have managed to find one on a website that looks identical. Fingers crossed as its a long way for a return..
