Type 9 Gearbox Oil

Just got a replacement type 9 box for my kit - what is the regarded as the best oil for a type 9? (I'm after durability)
I've heard that gear oil isn't considered the best! but your views/experience appreciated

Ford reccomend SAE80EPto ford spec ESD M2C175-A but I have known ATF be used HTH

Brian at BGH highly recommends Comma 75w90 GL4
