Anyone roughly in the South West got one / know of anywhere where I can get one for free?

I'm digging a mooring and what to use old wheels and tyres, but can I find any? No.

I've been rummaging about where people fly tip, as there usually seems to be loads of old wheels and tyres dumped, tried to get some from the council tip, but they won't release them because they are "hazzardous" ?

I just want some st old BIG wheels to bury in mud.

Couldn't you knock up something using concrete?

Tempted to, but lots of the moorings where I am use truck wheels really well, and I could roll it down the beach rather than having to drop it from a boat.

A large metal or plastic drum filled with concrete works really well. And it's cheap.

Not as cheap as free, and not as easy to get where I need it...

google haulage firms local to you, some may have a stack of old wheels with tyres on that they'd gladly get rid of

Also be careful of waste disposal rules, as you are in effect dumping the waste at an unapproved site. Possibly.

Scrap yard will be glad to get rid of them but as has been said there may be issues - waste carriers licences, disposal, etc.

No, I'm digging a mooring with the permission of the landowner and harbour master!
