about 10yrs ago me and my good lady paid to have a low level health check, cost about £500 from memory, money well spent as it picked up some anomalies (which were addressed)
now we're in the second half of our lives and wish to do something similar but probably a little more in depth, unfortunately the company we used before as no longer around so was wondering if anyone on here has any fairly recent experience?
preferably somewhere in the south but not imperative, i take my health pretty seriously and always have done so want to make sure its not all in vain

thanks Steve thats the sort of thing, sent off for a price as have used nuffield in the past for other things and they were quite good, hadn't thought of them tbh.
not willing to go into health specifics of my partner obviously but suffice to say that a GP did not pick up on it although given ample opportunity.

BMI Healthcare do something similar, and are often open to negotiation as hospitals set their own local pricing (or used to when I worked for them).
As a couple, you may be able to negotiate a reasonable discount, contact the hospital you would attend directly rather than the telephone number shown on the website which is the central advice team based up in Scotland.

Did you have this done? I was looking for a recommendation.
My OH has a lot of back problems stemming from a childhood break that didn't quite fix properly, and also she is run down quite a lot of the time. Whenever she goes to the GP about either of these things they fob her off.
Should we try the Nuffield health check?

Same. I've had the diabetes and cholesterol thing done, is there anything else?Having read the BMI & Nuffield summaries above, not sure there's that much extra for several hundred notes over & above the NHS 'welcome to your 40's' freebie.
Happy enough with the free one personally as it gave me a clean enough bill of health on the measurable stuff (even liver function
). Plus, had a certain amusement since the last time the nurse had seen me was +80lbs ago, so her face was a picture. Lecture on the tabs was the only option she had
