New TV for £500?

I have a limit of approx £500 for a TV. I'm looking for one between 39-42inch. So far i've found either the Panasonic 40inch 640 (from Currys), 39inch 600 (from John Lewis), or the Sony 40inch W8.

The W8 seems to have speed issues, but potentially a better display.

Does anyone have one of these TVs and an opinion on them?

I just picked up a Panasonic TX-42AS600B from John Lewis. Setting it all up now! The 26inch I was using was far too small for this room. I think I lucked out though as I paid £450 for it instead of the advertised £600!
