The Tour Effect

I just got back from my first ride since the Tour arrived on our shores. The difference is so noticeable. I had drivers going out of their way to be helpful and folk shouting encouragement anytime I was going uphill. The whole vibe was so friendly and positive it felt so much like the Olympic effect back in 2012. Has anybody else noticed this recently? It'd be great if it lasted beyond the Tour.

I did have a 'you're half way, keep going' comment up a small climb on today's ride from an old dear, it could have just been down to my panting though.

See I went out Friday, Yesterday and today - and got just as little space as you always do...............big thank you to the drivers of Surrey!!

Strangely we had the opposite today.
6 riders, 2 by 2 in close formation, circa 25mph and we had an Audi estate sat on the back beeping, with a passenger leaning out yelling "what do you fink you are? The f*cking tour de France?".

Same idiots out there...

Did I? If I did I blame the Guinness
I meant the guy in green chinos and a striped blazer is a tt. Was once pointed and laughed at by a guy dressed like an Umpah Lumpah, green wig and orange make up. Couldn't really say anything back, far too surreal.

I disagree horse riders 1st think they own the road and let their beasts st all over it.

Our road is terrible for it there are loads I prefer the cycles.
