light throttle misfire

Ok, those who know my car, will know that on track and full throttle my car goes extremely well, however since I had it serviced over a year ago, he found the one way valve from the dizzy was the wrong way round, timed it up and it obviously increased performance a whole load but started this misfire which is apparent at all revs, any gear but only on light throttle so whilst your cruising basically.

I am not blaming the service guy, he's a local reputable TVR specialist, and its probably more the fact that the one way valve was just hiding the issue.

I have tried a different coil, leads, plugs, rotor arm, cap etc and also tried removing all the plug extenders with no difference. any advice where to look next?

I would suspect a fault with the advance inside the dizzy if it only happening on light throttle.

Change the rather expensive race plugs which soot up in no time for the standard plugs used in RV8`s .

TVR specked them but they are a over kill . You can go for 6 or 7`s

Mine came with these when i had the rebuild so will stick with them .

And why do you need one of these- not normally fitted, I cant even remember what the frig was about to need one, take it out.

I removed mine and I am sure the MPG figure has risen. Nothing adverse detected since its removal.

Can't see it being the plugs as they were fitted before the service and were fine then it started right after, and when checked weren't sooted up. I'm off to a rolling road in Sunday with mark Adams on hand for advice so will ask about the possible advance issue and remove the one way valve too.

Nope because if I flip the one way valve back the wrong way (so there is no change in the advance) its fine
