Prudential London Ride - To Gun or Not to Gun

This is really aimed at people who did the ride last year...

I did the ride in 4 hours 46 mins last year. I reckon I could do it in sub 4 hours 30 (would aim for 4 hours 20 / 25), but it would mean it being quite a head down affair with little enjoyment or taking in of the ride itself.

If I took it at a more sedate pace I could still do it inside 5 hours.

What are the plans of people doing it for the second year? Do it to beat a time or do it to enjoy?

If i was doing it again last year I'd run at a similar sort of pace (I did it in 4:47 i think it was) - if there are groups to sit in, great - if not, i wouldn't get hung up on not beating 4:30..
Enjoy it for what it is - if you really want to start setting times or the like you know what you have to do :-)

Didn't do it last year, but aiming to gun it - got 3 4man team entries, hopefully all starting together. Don't know about time, but definitely aiming for a solid co-operative effort.

Then again, ride those roads all the time, so I can't be very bothered with the scenery. All about being able to go fast / not worry about traffic. Also fancy a little bit of a sprint up the Mall

Did it last year and thought I missed the atmosphere so this year I will make sure that I enjoy it and not beat myself up on what time I do it in
