Supercharging advice

Hi all, anyone fitted there own supercharger kit from sc power? Did you have any issues and is there anything I should check before going ahead? I have a 95 400 no power steering. Apparently the home mechanic can fit this kit. I am also planning to fit an mc1 cam as it's not a hc.

Yes, I fitted mine myself, It's easier than the cam change, I also fitted an MC1. It took me about a week doing it evenings and weekend, I reckon about 20 hours in total for me. Started first turn of the key as well.

If your any good with spammers you should be ok, however fit the intercooler and don't buy without, what size charger r u looking at ? C38-61 or bigger ?

Not sure what size, only just started looking at it. Why not buy it without the cooler? I know you can up boost.

Your cooler drops intake temps, otherwise high intake temp equals melted pistons, do some research but don't not fit the intercooler. Look at as I told you so option.

Yes I installed my own too, was easy even with the intercooler. I would also recommend installing an oil cooler if you plan to drive it hard; I've just had my engine rebuilt and we found a fair few burned oil deposits so it had been getting hot. I've had one installed now just to be safe.

Yes and no, let's put like this, you need a big tank, water injection supplements the cooling even further as even with a intercooler I was seeing hi intake temps. So water adds another degree of safety, why cut corners, what would you do if the water tank ran out and had no intercooler, err no just fit the intercooler and if you find that's not enough then add water.

Also water injection nozzles can block so you need some means of bringing this you your attention. I fitted a aquamist system which is as good as gets

My boot is full of water anyway ,so it makes it easy

Emailed david at sc and he says the kit without the cooler uses a 30-94 charger which is safe to use for upto an extra 60bhp, I sure he knows his product but has anyone had experience of this?
