new ford brake components

original fronts: 240mm ventilated, which were improved to 260mm ventilated now to be Ford type 27 & 28 (granada cosworth 10mm mount) callipers, 283 discs with diameter machined to now 278mm ventilated discs to create clearance within carrier without the less than desirable 'grinding' of the carrier or big spacers! This set up leaves little room for balance weights on the inner rim of the OZ 8 spokes.

original rears: 10" drum, changed previously to 253 solid discs now to be ventilated 273mm discs

some improvement is anticipated and all largely standard ford components

Interesting Steve, but we need to know how it works in reality....

...will it rip your face off at the first gentle touch of the brake pedel, or will it just explode like the bad guys cars in holiwood films... wink

My relatively new 280/250mm disc set up coped fine at Anglesey yesterday including hard stop from over 100mph to about 30mph on each lap. Quality DOT 5.1 fluid is essential IMHO.
