What is the consensus here on DB9 specs - anyone still into magnolia leather + wood, or is that hopelessly outdated and one has to have "triple black" (with back wheels on top)?

I think wood is OK as long as the door cappings are leather covered.

It's a timeless combination that will always look good in an Aston imo. I wouldn't want anything else.

And as for black wheels yuck great way to make your car look cheap and nasty.

But its true, wood has no place in a modern car. Always reminds me of old people driving in trilby hats and slippers smoking a pipe and smelling of wee whistle

So we take one of the most elegant stunning designed exteriors, add jewel like instrument panels, beautiful and modern switches, a sat nav that appears out of the tyop of the dashboard. All great, then we add some confusing slithers of wood to try and take all the modernism back to the 19th Century.

ALL Astons have wooden dashboards IIRC (happy to modify if required).

You talking about the wooden look confused

I miss having wood in the car (and no, that's nothing to do with avinalarf's ladyboys)... it gives an interior an air of class that piano black just doesn't. I think mahogany is a bit outdated, but there are lighter wood colours that are more modern, bamboo for example?

Depends who you are. I had wood on mine but had it nicely repainted and polished up in piano black.
If it were my dad, I'd recommend he keep the wood as it's more in keeping with his overall image. My dad is 70 something and I was 30 something.

Piano black is walnut, Speech wink

I'm with Neil...not really keen on the wood look unless you're very old like DB9VolanteDriver or just a bit weird like le yeti yes

Yeah, but in black I just don't find it as classy. It's better than the plastic used for the rest of the centre console, but I think I'd prefer something that looks a bit more... well, woody!

Only in the first year of production, Aston ten realised only the young and hip buy the Vantage. Whereas the DB9 is bought by the old and hip replacement crowd biglaugh

I disagree with this - if going for wood, it looks a lot better with the door cappings done as well IMHO. Looks like it was 'meant to be' that way.

As I said before it's timeless. Unlike carbon fibre.

All Range Rovers, Bentleys, Rolls Royces and Astons should have wooden interiors cool
