2009 XKR black side window trims

Just gone and purchased a 2009 5.0 XKR Coupe.
I need to lose the chrome detailing.

Has anyone tried to change the chrome side window trims to black?

The JLR price for new trims (as per Black Pack) comes in at nearly £800 !
Can these be removed without damage, painted black and refitted?

No definitive info, but this is not a dealer re-fit option, but something done at time of factory build. I'd say prohibitively expensive and not worth risking.

If you can find a company that do vinyl wraps (e.g. company logos on vans etc.) they may be able to trim these with removable vinyl for you - that way you can have the stuff taken off if you want it back to standard when you come to sell the car.

You'll have to wait for the pics.
Car's got to have a few bits put right before I actually get my grubby little paws on it.

Painting and wrapping are options but I've got to make sure the trim can't be removed and re-used before going that route.
I'll have to speak to one of the breakers and see if they can identify how this part is attached.
Plenty of time to work it out, I'm not planning on changing cars again for a while.
