I'm 35, and for the first time in my life I just can't get excited about buying my next car 
I recently sold my Mk2 MX5, which was a high days and holidays toy, in pretty much immaculate condition. That was about a month or so ago and I've had my nose in the classifieds since then!
Dunno why, I still love cars and driving, but I just can't seem to find the enthusiasm. I suspect it's because I've been spending so much time looking and researching that I've become, as the Glaswegians would say, "scunnered"
Anyone else felt like that?

After owning a 2002 SL500 from 2008 to 2012 I almost completely lost any enthusiasm for cars - it was such a load of crap that almost broke me (18K in repairs ...) that it left me emotionally scarred
Thankfully I like my cars again (although I've gone down the personal leasing route - no risk of those bills again!) thanks to the new SLK which I love to bits (I'm on my second).

Yeah, even the recent "PH Heroes" article on the DC5 didn't get my juices going, and a DC5 is on my shortlist.
Much the same, money sat waiting, quite a large budget that opens up a fair bit of exotica, had a cack experience and messed around by a dealer so got my deposit back and whacked the lot in the savings account.
Wind gone from my car buying sails. Just going to stick with what I've got and may get the tuscan a re trim.

I know what this feels like.
After 14 years of various Scoobs I recently got rid of my modified Forester STi. The ride on coilovers wasn't helping with a back problem so it had to go. For the time being I'm enjoying the relative comfort and lack of traction that comes with a 200 bhp FWD hatch. However, I have a hankering for something else but nothing is really catching my eye. Lots of cars have elements of what I feel like I need, but then I'm not even sure what that is...

I had always had a fast toy in the garage until 4 years ago, then sold it to help pay off the mortgage.
A combination of getting old, increase in traffic levels and increasing number of reduced speed limits, and very few opportunties to really enjoy driving them to their potential without losing my licence, seems to have made them less relevant, to me at least.
Driving approx 90k miles a year for my business has also made recreational driving less appealing
I seem to have moved into the "wafting" category but one day soon when I am semi retired I will hopefully get my mojo back and buy another toy for the aged.
The recent changes to private pensions have suddenly become very tempting and appealing. Just need to decide what to buy.

Ditto. I literally do not see any car I want to buy thats under 5 years old. All too expensive, too complicated, reliability not what it should be, depreciate too much and none of them have anything to differentiate from the next car.

Another part of the problem for me is that what I *really* want is a 7-esque car, but buying one would create more problems than it solves as I don't have a garage.
My friend bought an sl in 2003 for £80k. Another friend bought a cayman s in 2006 for £60k. Another bought an f430 for about £160k.
They sold them for £9k, £14k and £72k respectively in the past few years.
I cant help but think cars are a waste of money nowadays, you go to JAIL if caught speeding. How else can a decent human being get jailed on his way home from work?!
Speed cameras, traffic, motorway cameras etc just mean that an expensive car doesn't make sense.
They all now lease a new diesel with all the toys and seem to be skiing or in vegas or on holiday every other month. Granted, theres an argument to say do both but I do think the stories of an e60 m5 repair bills just make things like that seem a waste.

I'm in the same boat.
