Is removing injectors straightforward ?

I have heard stories about specialist mobile removal people, hanging the car by the injector and other such brutal tricks but maybe this relates more to modern direct injection diesels than the good old V8.

Yes. Just unbolt the fuel rail and lift it up. The injectors will just pull out of the rail and also just pull out of the manifold. Its a tight manouvre with the plenum and base on but can be done.

As above. The injectors are sealed and held in place by O rings.
These stick and are sometimes a bit of a bugger to remove!

When assembling, use a little Vaseline on the O rings, (oh missus!).
