Audi A6 Fuel Flap stuck shut

My colleagues fuel flap has stuck shut any ideas on how to free it ?

Guess it'll depend on what the problem is. Any idea if the flap is locked as part of the central locking system? Often there's a way of manually overriding it on some cars, if you can pull off the carpet / trim behind the fuel flap and access the mechanism.

That's what I did on my old Vectra. I just pulled the solenoid arm away and it unlocked.

I don't know about the previous versions but C6 (2005 onwards), C7 (the current shape) are both central locking locked

Behind the cover where the jack is, there is a peg you can plug and that should release it
Usually a green chord type thing with a circle to pull

There should be a release for it inside the boot behind the trim panel. Shows you in the handbook.

Had this on a 58 plate A4 whilst away on business in Oxford. Couldn't open the filler, made sure car was unlocked etc. Drove back to Hotel and investigated further, found the manual release in the boot, that wasn't working either. Felt like I was going to snap the cable if I gave it too much, so found the local Audi garage and popped round there the following morning. Guy I saw could not open the flap manually either, so the garage replaced the solenoid under warranty and couldn't offer any reason as to why the manual release wasn't working.

A colleague had this on his A7 last week, it had to go into an Audi garage to be sorted after 'rescue' service couldn't help him.

Should try one with a rubber grip
