Interesting, I found a video on youtube titled the making of the Battle of Britain which showed period 1968 films of behind the scenes with the director and four Texans who had come to Spain to buy 4 ME109's and a Spitfire, heard about the film and leased their new purchases to the film makers on the proviso they could fly them in the film. so we see Texan/germans with Luftwaffe uniforms and Stetsons! search it out if you have time
