The deserted A roads once you get within 100km of Le Mans as the sun starts to rise and the mist clings to dips in the terrain with hardly a blemish of civilization for miles. Beautiful scenery, made better by a V8 backdrop

Getting into the Peak District on a midsummer morning at some ridiculous time in the small hours. First light, just a very mild haze of mist hanging in the valleys. Car fully warmed through, windows down, not a soul around.

One of mine is the split-level M5 just south of the Avonmouth Bridge at dawn on the motorbike.
Heading south, deserted motorway, outside lane (yes, I know...) sun coming up and the sky turning pink, clicking along at leptons+ it is just like flying for a few minutes

How about the Susten, Grimsel & Furka passes loop in the heart of Switzerland? What about all the other amazing mountain passes in Switzerland and Austria (that are all vastly superior to the Stelvio by the way!); that Transsylvanian pass in Romania (that was on Top Gear)
What about tunnels? Loads again in Europe, way longer than the Hindhead tunnel
THen there is derestricted autobahns in the early morning...

No. I love the scenery on Cornwall coast road or the mountains of Wales. But what are the joyful sights when motoring (in a sarcastic way). I mean, what can beat being stuck behind a caravan on the A30?
